I did a plant spirit medicine apprenticeship with Pam Montgomery, and connected more deeply to the different vibrations of each plant and flower. Making my own flower essences in the apprenticeship felt nourishing to my soul and calmed my nerves.
Years later, I found myself at a crossroads. I had spent the last 25 years as a school teacher but felt called to do healing work and share my love of plants and flowers with the world. So, I made a big leap! I created my own business, Lily Essence.

Hi, I’m Sara, the founder of Lily Essence. This is the story of how flowers changed my life.
When I left the urban jungle of New Jersey and spent a summer in rural Vermont, I fell in love with wild flowers and making flower essences.
I was suffering from severe anxiety, panic attacks, and a feeling of being stuck in my head. Running through a field of wildflowers, I felt all this emotional turmoil just lift off my back and I could fully breathe again.
Then, I began learning all I could about natural remedies for emotional health. I found that sitting with flowers brought me back into the moment, into calm, and into my body.
